So you want to be a teacher?

"The task of the modern educator is not to cut down jungles, but to irrigate deserts." ~C.S. Lewis Since I was a peer tutor in middle school, I knew I wanted to be a teacher. I knew that education was my gift and my calling. Before enrolling in a Teacher Education Program, I wanted to be well-rounded in my content area, which is English Language-Arts. I graduated from The University of Alabama with degrees in English and Theatre. I am thankful for the personal growth and academic challenges I faced at UA and I know I'm prepared to teach my content. When applying to Teacher Education Programs, I knew the University of Montevallo had a top-notch program that would thoroughly prepare for to be a classroom teacher. The rigorous coursework and encouraging faculty challenge and push me everyday to be the best student and educator I can be, regarding content and pedagogy. I cannot wait to see where my journey at Montevallo takes me.
